Make Apples Great Again

The lore of the apple being a symbol of health is no longer true! Though more tasty and physically beautiful, modern supermarket varieties of apples’ beneficial phytonutrients have become degraded and erased. The artists created a vanitas style tableau, including: mass-produced apples that have been chemically treated to appear semi-transparent, fallen apples of wild-type ancestors, and various other elements to accentuate deconstruction. A field recording taken in a historic apple orchard in Seattle, punctuated by gentle tones, completes the immersive experience of the piece.
